December Update from Grand Canyon Conservancy

Next Year’s Artist in Residence

2022 Artists in Residence

The Artist in Residence program’s purpose is to inspire artists from around the world to take on new creative ideas and express their lived experiences of the canyon. Our 2022 artists to seek inspiration at Grand Canyon National Park are:

  • Photographer and painter, Daniele Genadry (winter resident)
  • Experimental artist, Elijah Jamal Asani (summer resident)
  • Sculptor, Leah Aegerter (fall resident)

We will be sharing updates and details with you during their individual residencies. To learn more about the program and past residents, visit https://www.grandcanyon.org/our-work/artist-in-residence/.

Dean Regas: Astronomer in Residence

Dean Regas, Grand Canyon Astronomer in Residence, has been inspiring visitors at the park to appreciate the most pristine night skies in the United States, learn about different constellations, stars, and planets, and spread awareness about the threats of light pollution.

We sat down with Dean and asked him about his background and time at Grand Canyon.

#MyGrandCanyonStory: Brian Reynolds

We believe everyone has a story worth telling. Many times, people leave Grand Canyon National Park with unforgettable photos and memories. Brian Reynolds has an inspirational story to tell you about his journey in the canyon.

He shares, “I am now one of the fastest amputees in the world and it all stemmed from this first trip to Grand Canyon.”
